Do you even know where I live? Here in Manila, there are a lot of squatters who don't have enough to feed their families. And YET, they still value lives of animals and keep pets even when they themselves don't have enough. They don't starve animals. I'm sure they DO know the value of things, don't you? If somebody stuck you in an exhibit and starved you for the sake of art, would you like that? This is NOT intervention, it's CRUELTY. Invite the artist in my hometown? Do you even know where I live?

Here in Manila, there are a lot of squatters who don’t have enough to feed their families. And YET, they still value lives of animals and keep pets even when they themselves don’t have enough. They don’t starve animals. I’m sure they DO know the value of things, don’t you?

If somebody stuck you in an exhibit and starved you for the sake of art, would you like that?

Awake up! The dog died because no one of the exhibition visitors did give food to the animal. We are the hypocrites here. I don´t appreciate the aesthetic of this kind of work but I can´t see that the big picture it is about our capacity to relate. Anyone with a fair understanding of contemporary art could and should intervene in that piece. But no one did… Instead of criticizing the artist, you should invite him to do a similar intervention in your home town. Them, perhaps, people would look to life in a different way and start appreciating the true value of things. Art isn’t about beautiful pictures on the wall. It´s never been. Look behind the pictures. Even if those scabs were just "makeup," just one look at how thin the dog is, you'll know that the dog is being mistreated. Dogs don't get that thin unless they're starved. I pity that Snopes writer's dog (if he or she even has one), when its owner doesn't even know if a dog that thin isn't being mistreated. "Well-fed?" That gallery director's got to be kidding. Or he just really needs his eyes checked. The poor dog makes my healthy dogs look overly obese! That Snopes writer probably has eye problems.
