Shantee’s first Holiday celebrations
Shantee survived her first-ever New Year celebration. Actually, I even think she took it in stride, although she was really scared of sparklers
I guess all that light was so new to her.

That’s me with Shantee lighting a sparkler about an hour before the New Year celebration went all crazy. Turned out, she didn’t like sparklers unlike Coal the Labrador Retriever—Dad had to keep him on a leash because he wanted to chase after the sparks from the fountain and sparklers Marc and Dad lit.
We brought Shantee in the bedroom on her golden bed about thirty minutes before midnight. She didn’t shake like Sheero did, but she was quiet. Marc was even afraid that she might be sick (she usually ran around the house like a crazed dog and chewed on Marc’s toes whenever she was bored), but I knew it was because she was scared of the sounds. After all, she didn’t even protest when I hugged her like a baby (she normally hated that hehe), and even hid her face on my chest.
After the loud fireworks and firecrackers of midnight, Shantee was back to her usual self: chewing, running, and jumping all over the place.
Shantee did enjoy the party we had early in the evening. My younger sister had some of her friends over, and my parents invited Marc’s family over. Shantee had a blast playing with the kids wearing her polka-dots New Year dress!

Christmas Eve
We brought Shantee along visiting my dad’s family in Caloocan and spent the evening with Marc’s family in Marikina. Shantee spent the drive sleeping beside my mom in the car (she doesn’t get motion sickness like Sheero did). Good thing she did, because she spent the evening being a star! The kids just love her.

Christmas Day
Another “star” day for Shantee! We (including the little furry socialite) spent Christmas in Ayala Alabang for a small family reunion/Christmas party with my mom’s side of the family. My cousins visiting from Canada loved playing with Shantee, and she absolutely loved being the center of attention…Again. She loved it so much that she even chased away my cousins’ own standard-size Shih Tzu, Jibet! She felt like she owned the place. Hehe.

Shantee’s turning out to be a real furry socialite
And I think she had a blast on her first Holiday season. Hope your dogs had as much fun as Shantee did!!!
