Hello fellow Pinoy dog-lovers! Got great news… The submission of entries for the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards has been extended until August 21 at 11:59PM Manila time!

If you’re a Filipino and own a blog, you can join! If you have a pet-related blog, do make sure you enter it under the Hobby and Recreation main category. If it’s a commentary about pets, Commentary category is better for you. If your blog focuses on advocacy (ie. Animal Welfare!), the Advocacy category is the best category for it. Just make sure you enter it under the correct category so you’ll have a chance of winning!

As one of the co-founders and organizers of the Philippine Blog Awards, Shantee, Kubrick and I can’t join. So it’s up to you guys to make known to the Philippine blogosphere about the animal-related blogs out there! Good luck to all!

Been so busy with work I haven’t really gotten the time to sit down and blog about this

This coming October 26 (that’s on Sunday!), Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) will be having its annual grand Halloween fund-raising event at Eastwood Central Plaza on at 3pm. Registration starts at 130pm, program starts at 3pm. There will be a P250 registration fee which will go to the PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center.

With all the Halloween hoo-la-ba-loo happening here at our house (my family and I are preparing decors for our village’s Halloween Trick or Treat event this coming Saturday), I just hope I find the time to create a Halloween costume for Shantee. She just LOVES dressing up!

PAWS is currently in search of the Pinoy Pet Superstar:

Email a high-resolution file photo of your pet to philpaws@yahoo. com together with the following details- Name of owner, address, telephone and mobile numbers, Name of Pet, type of pet, breed of pet, age and sex of pet. Theme of the contest is “Pinoy Pet Superstar” so make sure to submit a photo that shows your pet in his/her most glamorous or Hollywood / “pa-star” pose. Deadline of submission of entries is October 18, 2006. Winners will be awarded on October 21 during the Furry Tales main program (see #3 below). Exciting prizes from major sponsor, Pedigree, await the lucky winner – snap those photos of your ‘babies’ now!

I have an uber-cute pic of Sheero (look at her, she’s so PROUD!) that I entered in the contest. Who knows what those “exciting prizes” might be? Hehe.

There isn’t any harm in trying right? Besides, all you need to do is send an email to the address PAWS gave, and your dog will have a chance at fame!
