Doggie Day Fair 2

Welcome, Shantee!

Little Shantee

Shantee is an Imperial Shih Tzu (or commonly called here in the Philippines as “Princess type” Shih Tzu), more than two months old. She’s as feisty as our darling Sheero, but way friendlier (Sheero had snobby tendencies hehe). All of our other dogs like her—Choknat and Harry seem to take her under their wing. Continue Reading

Work of art my A$$!

This post was filed under Animal Cruelty.

For somebody who spent the last few weeks moping and crying over a furry best friend who passed away, I find it UNBELIEVABLY CRUEL that some people actually thought it’s a work of art to put a live, starving dog on display.

And I thought I’ve seen the worst of animal cruelty seeing a dog run over by a car on the street. This is unbelievable. Does he derive pleasure seeing the dog tortured like that? It’s cruel, absolutely cruel.

Help sign the petition boycotting this cruel artist.

Help sign the petition!

Art is supposed to be beautiful. And I don’t see anything beautiful in such cruelty AT ALL.

“A Little Dog Angel” by Noah M. Holland

“A Little Dog Angel”
by Noah M. Holland

High up in the courts of heaven today
a little dog angel waits;
with the other angels he will not play,
but he sits alone at the gates.
“For I know my master will come” says he,
“and when he comes he will call for me.”

The other angels pass him by
As they hurry toward the throne,
And he watches them with a wistful eye
as he sits at the gates alone.
“But I know if I just wait patiently
that someday my master will call for me.”

And his master, down on earth below,
as he sits in his easy chair,
forgets sometimes, and whispers low
to the dog who is not there.
And the little dog angel cocks his ears
and dreams that his master’s voice he hears.

And when at last his master waits
outside in the dark and cold,
for the hand of death to open the door,
that leads to those courts of gold,
he will hear a sound through the gathering dark,
a little dog angel’s bark.

We’ll see each other again, my best friend. I love you, Sheero.

Goodbye, my beloved Sheero

This post was filed under My Dogs.

Sheero passed away last Friday, 26 October 2007 at 6:25pm. She had a cardiac arrest leading to a coma, which in turn led to her passing.

I can’t tell you how much pain I am in right now. I wouldn’t even try to.

Sheero, I love you.

Please pray for Sheero

Sheero’s very sick. Please pray for her… 🙁

Pet blessing at Eastwood City Walk

This post was filed under Pet Events in the City.

Yesterday, I finally got my movie fix—I haven’t been out of the house for more than a month because of my work load. So, after my torture, Marc (my husband) and I decided to dine and relax at Eastwood City Walk since it’s the closest to our house. That’s when I found out about a pet blessing to be held on Sunday, 430pm at Eastwood City.

In celebration of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, there will be a parade of the saint’s image together with pet owners and their beloved animals. A mass will follow, then the pet blessing. Marc and I are planning to bring Sheero along, since she’s the only dog we have who can manage to stay well-behaved at events where there are a lot of people—she’s a real “party animal!” Besides, she likes going there 🙂

Hopefully by Sunday, Sheero will become a bona fide Roman Catholic hehehe.

See you there!

A tear-jerker dog video

This post was filed under Dog Ownership, Pet Loss.

It takes a great deal for me to cry, especially when watching films or short videos. But this one is an exception.

I love you, Sheero. I love you, Choknat and Harry. I love you Patatats, Spike, Coal, Scout, Crunchie, Kuton, Whitey, Tootie, and Cho-Cho. Hugs! 🙂

Why Harry was banned…

This post was filed under My Dogs.

Ever since Marc and I got married, Sheero was the only one he allowed inside the house. Marc and Choknat hate each other, so there’s no question there. But Harry?

See why…

Marc and Harry

Marc was furious when he woke up. He thought it was me sleeping beside him 😀

Sheero’s first post: My Taste Asia Adventure

This post was filed under My Dogs, Recreation.

I’ve always found it weird blogging “for” my dogs, like as if they’re the ones writing the entries. But in this instance, I find no better way than to tell the Taste Asia party in Sheero’s perspective. Enjoy! 😀

Sheero at the Taste Asia party in SM Hypermarket

My dad Marc wanted to go to the Mall of Asia early, he had a meeting with a client, so my mommy Gail decided that I should have my first ever flea bath and grooming session while waiting for him. I nearly threw up during the trip up the carpark (the spiral driveway made me so dizzy), and I really, really hated the man who cleaned my ears and soaked me in the bath! I was already in a bad mood, my mom didn’t make me wear my bling-bling. Good thing she bought me a fashionable denim shirt, or I’d be in a terrible, terrible mood.

My mom picked me up (my dad still in a meeting) with her friend Juned, who told the nice lady at Animal House they don’t have clothes for fishies (he’s a fish-lover), on their way to the Taste Asia party at SM Hypermarket. He also carried Tita Aileen‘s hamsters (it took every inch of my willpower not to nip at them!).

I felt like a real celebrity at the party! I even got a printed name tag, while my mom’s was only handwritten. People even asked for my autograph, can you believe that? I don’t know how to write, so I just gave them fans my paw print instead of signing my name. Tito Mike thinks I’m “so cutie,” while the other Tito Mike kept touching my fur (or was it my tail?). I wanted to play with the kid with Tita Dine, but Tito Chris was holding my leash. I also met Tito Jayvee, who wanted me to meet Hondo, and Tita Sharm. Tita Noemi took my picture (I looked like an evil dog with glowing eyes! Rawr!), and I wanted to nip off Tita Lauren‘s hand again (I smelled cats!).

I spent the rest of the evening eating barbecue (I had an entire barbecue all to myself!), while listening to Tito Eugene, Tita Sasha, Tito Rico and my mom and dad chat about something called blogging, and avoiding that evil, evil Guitarchic‘s clutches (I suspect that she’s a hamster-lover. Grrrr…).

I wanted to take home barbecue, but there were still humans to feed when we left. Taste Asia definitely beats eating dried dog food all day!
