PETrified Halloween Costume Contest

Sooo… It’s that time of the year again, when we get to dress up our pets, have fun and help animals-in-need at the same time. This year, CARA Welfare Philippines and Eastwood City brings you PETrified Halloween Costume Contest!

You know the drill. Dress up your pet with the most creative Halloween costume you can think of, pay the joining fee of Php250 (which will serve as your donation to CARA), and strut your stuff for the judges!

You and your pet could win one of these prizes:

  • 2nd Place – Php3,000 worth of goodies
  • 3rd Place – Php2,000 worth of goodies
  • 7 other finalists – Php1,000 worth of goodies

Contestants will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • 25% – Harmony (pet costume must be in line with the pet owner / handler’s costume)
  • 25% – Ingenuity (Originality and Creativity)
  • 25% – Halloween Spirit (Scary / Whimsical / Magical)

Get in the Halloween spirit with pet events, trick-or-treating and more at Eastwood City

Shoppers can get in the Halloween Spirit with a Kid & Pet Costume Contest, trick-or-treating, Halloween-inspired dishes and more at Eastwood City!
Guests can enjoy Halloween with their pets at the PETrified Halloween Party on Oct. 25, 3PM at the Eastwood Mall Open Park. For P250 which will be donated to CARA (Compassion and Responsibility for Animals), guests can join the Kids and Pets Costume Contest at 3PM. The 10 best matching kid and pet costumes will win fantastic prizes!

This will be followed by the Pawesome Dog Treats Cooking Demo at 4PM, where guests can learn how to make healthy doggie treats in a live cooking demo with Chef Giannina Gonzalez of Whole Pet Kitchen. Guests can learn to make snacks like Yappy Yogurt and Beef Muffins, Liver Pupsicles and more! Pets in the audience will be treated to free samples of these treats while pet owners can take home copies of the recipes.

After the Costume Contest awarding, kids can go trick or treating with their furry friends around Eastwood at 5PM.

Pre-registration for the event starts on Oct. 18 at the Eastwood Mall Concierge while on-site registration starts at 12NN. Guests are asked to bring their pet’s original and a photocopy of their vaccination documents and two pieces of 1×1 ID photo to get their pet pass.

Shoppers can also go Trick or Treating around Eastwood City on Oct. 26, 11AM onwards by claiming their Trick or Treat Map at the Eastwood Mall Concierge.

For more Halloween treats, they can also try Halloween-inspired food and cocktail offering with Halloween Food Bizarre, limited edition Halloween dishes served from Oct. 27 – Nov. 2.

For a deliciously devilish entrée, try Momo Café’s Eyeball Meatball in black ink cappellini pasta then try their Bat Blueberry Juice, which is pineapple juice, sprite and blueberry or their Bloody Shirley Temple, grenadine, lime juice and sprite. Shoppers looking for a sweet finish for their meal can order Pho Hoa’s Creepy Mango Crepe or the Halloween Cupcakes from Jack’s Loft.

Guests can also get in the Halloween spirit at the break of day by having breakfast at Slappy Cakes or Early Bird Breakfast Club and ordering their Food Bizarre Specials.

To give diners a taste of fall, Slappy Cakes has a yummy Pumpkin Batter Set, decadent fresh pumpkin batter made from scratch and best paired with cream cheese frosting. Meanwhile Early Bird Breakfast Club is serving up their R.I.P. Pastries that will pair great with coffee.

At Krispy Kreme, several Halloween treats are also on the menu – families can take home a box of Krispy Skremes Halloween doughnuts, which include the “Boo Berry”, “Frankie”, “Skull”, “Scarecrow”, “Pumpkin”, “Skwish” and “Spider Web.”

For more sweet treats, shoppers can also participate in the Halloween Witch Hunt from Oct. 24 to Nov. 2. They can take a selfie with the three gorgeous witches selling candy around Eastwood City. Once they have photos with all 3 witches, they can present it at the Candy Corner booth at the Eastwood Mall Open Park to get a special treat.
